Molėtai land

Almost in the middle of the hilly East Aukštaitija lies the Molėtai land. It is a small strech of land (1374,53 square km). Its nature emerged as a consequence of the glacial period. As many as 743,3 sq.km of the area are occupied by forests, lakes, swamps and hills.
There are more than 300 lakes here.
The countryside of Molėtai offers pleasant recreation both in summer and winter. The land is ecologically clean and free of industry polluting the environment.

Molėtai

Molėtai , counting its seventh century, is situated in the center of wonderful lake district, at a busy intersection of six roads.The river Siesartis flows through the town. In the east and the south Molėtai is surrounded by Lakes Dūriai, Luokesa and Siesartis. Farther eas lies tha Lakajai lake district consisting of Lakes Bebrusai, Baltieji Lakajai, Juodieji Lakajai, Kertuojai. The distance from Vilnius is only 55 kilometers.
